Can't seem to do it after an oil change. Am I missing something here, or is there a trick to it?
What @hornettorquetribe22 and @MigraineAttack suggested are the ways I know how to reset it.You know, after I got my last oil change, I ran into the same problem. Usually, here's what I do: I turn the key to the 'On' position (while keeping the engine off), then I hit the gas pedal all the way down three times in quick succession, and finally, I turn everything off again. When I crank up the car afterward, the light should be all cleared up. If it's still being stubborn, your ride might need a different reset trick or even some help from a scanner. By the way, what make and year is your car?
I'm not his buddy LOL but this is also how I reset my oil life. One time it took me three tries to fix it. I'd still say that's better than taking a trip to the dealer! What @hornettorquetribe22 and @MigraineAttack suggested are the ways I know how to reset it.
It happened to a buddy once where he had to do the pedal method multiple times t o get the timing right!
But if the pedal method and the Uconnect menu option both fail, it's possible there's a different issue at play.
You'd probably need to take it to your dealership so they can use a professional scan tool to reset it.
It's not common, but it can happen, especially if there's a glitch in the system.
