Coolant leak main causes?

Just had a coolant hose crack and start leaking... any idea what might've caused that? Thankfully, it was covered under warranty and they replaced the hose and topped off the coolant. Found out about it during my last oil change. How common is this?

Coolant hoses often crack from age, heat, or pressure. Glad the warranty took care of it

Its not very common but definitely not unheard of, especially if the car sees a lot of heavy traffic or extreme temps.

That's a bit of a bummer, but good that it was covered! Yeah, it's not super common but can happen especially on some of the earlier builds. Sometimes it's just a bad batch of rubber or a clamp that was a little too tight from the factory, which can stress the hose over time. So it's good they caught it and fixed it before it became a bigger issue! Just keep an eye on your temp gauge and coolant level for the next few thousand miles to be safe, but you should be good to go.
