GT Drivetrain jerk when slowing down

I noticed a strange drivetrain jerk in my GT around 2–5 mph during gradual deceleration, it feels like a rough downshift or early start/stop engagement, and turning start/stop off doesn't help. It only happens once per slowdown cycle, the manual mentions a torque converter clutch, maybe that's it? but it's been getting worse. Anyone else experience this?

@Beatitudes tbh, that's really weird that it still happens even with the start/stop off. maybe it's not the start/stop itself, but perhaps something in the transmission or torque converter that the system interacts with at those low speeds.
A common thing is a TCC shudder, which definitely feels like a rough engagement/disengagement right before you stop. Since it's getting worse, I wouldn't let it go.
You'll probably need a dealership or a good transmission shop to hook it up and see what the live data looks like during those decelerations

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, it really feels like a TCC issue more than anything else. Do you know if a fluid change or TCM update ever helped in your case?

If I remember correctly, the manual mentions that once the tcc engages and disengages you'll notice a bit of a jerk. They don't phrase it that way, but that's the sum of it. The bigger problem is that as you mentioned things are getting worse, so there could be a problem. Is your Hornet still under warranty? If it is, take it to the dealer and let them figure things out. If not, you might want to find a Dodge specific workshop and have the vehicle checked. I'm guessing you don't have any codes on the dashboard?
